TUFF SHED, Inc., America’s leading supplier of installed storage buildings and garages, continues on its growth curve, opening four new manufacturing facilities in the first half of 2006.

New TUFF SHED factories have opened in Minneapolis, Minn.; Detroit, Mich.; Lafayette, La.; and Eugene, Ore. thus far in 2006, boosting the total number of factories to 49 for the Denver-based company. The typical TUFF SHED factory includes both manufacturing, and a retail showroom for customer sales. All four new 2006 facilities are up and running with both of these elements, except for the Lafayette factory, which has not yet added a retail showroom. TUFF SHED also operates 29 company-owned retail sales-only facilities.

The company’s sales of $154 million in 2005 make TUFF SHED the largest storage building and garage manufacturer/installer in the United States. The four new factories are expected to help fuel additional growth for TUFF SHED, with the company projecting revenues of $185 million in 2006.

In total, TUFF SHED and its more than 1,400 employees service customers in 35 states nationwide. Besides the factory outlets and sales lots, TUFF SHED’s distribution network includes more than 1,200 Home Depot locations across the country, making TUFF SHED the largest provider in The Home Depot’s “Furnish and Install” category.

TUFF SHED products include wooden backyard storage sheds, larger commercial storage buildings, garages and cabin shells. The Premier Series™ and Premier Pro Series™ product lines include many different styles and sizes with the ability of custom configurations. Premier and Premier Pro Series products are available exclusively at TUFF SHED retail locations and include a seven-year limited warranty for the Premier Series, and an industry-leading 10-Year Limited Warranty on Premier Pro Series buildings. At a lower price point and still readily differentiated from the competition is The Sundance Series™, with this product line of sheds sold exclusively through The Home Depot stores. Sundance Series products include a five-year limited warranty. In select Home Depot markets, TUFF SHED also offers an entry price-point product called The Keystone Series™. Where available, the Keystone Series includes a 1-Year Limited Warranty. All products are delivered and installed by trained TUFF SHED builders.

“We’re excited about the new locations we’ve added so far in 2006,” said Tom Saurey, TUFF SHED President and founder. “With the new factories, we’re able to continue on our growth curve and begin offering our great TUFF SHED products to more and more customers.”

Tom Saurey founded TUFF SHED in 1981 in Rexburg, Idaho and moved the company headquarters to Denver in 1986. Strong sales and sustained growth have drawn industry praise for the enterprise, with recent recognition including the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year® award for the Rocky Mountain Region in 2004 for Saurey, along with ColoradoBiz Magazine’s Manufacturing Company of the Year in 2004, and Denver Business Journal’s Deal Makers of the Year Award in 2005 for TUFF SHED.
