It tops the charts as one of the most requested songs of all-time, and if you’ve been to a wedding in the past 15 years you’ve probably heard “Love Shack” by the B-52’s.

With catchy, high-energy lyrics, the B-52’s 1989 release became their first Top 10 hit, rising to No. 3 on the Top 40 charts, and bringing the group to international stardom.

And while the location of the actual Love Shack is not clear, MSNBC reported in 2004 that an unoccupied, 5-room cabin with a tin roof in Athens, Georgia that had recently burned down was probably the shack that inspired the hit song. Kate Pierson lived in the shack in the 1970s and it’s rumored that the group created “Rock Lobster,” the popular song from the band’s 1979 self-titled debut album, in that exact love shack.

So if one tin-roofed love shack can inspire a chart-topping album, imagine the possibilities that a “love shed” could inspire!
