Meet Callie, the Morning Crafter.
Callie Hawley (@the_morningcrafter) has been crafting her whole life. When she started a crochet business, it took off—and took over her house. Trying to make room for her creative projects and two young children in her home quickly became a struggle, or in Callie’s words, “a yarn explosion.” It was clear that she needed her own crafting studio space to call her own.
That’s where Callie’s Tuff Shed Crafting Studio comes in.
Callie wanted an oasis—a space to call her own. So she got a 10×16’ Premiere Tall ranch wired for electricity. Then she added windows—so many windows. Callie opted for two front-facing windows, a glass panel door, and transom windows on the other three walls. Natural light was a must for her space, so we made it happen. The last thing she added was plenty of storage and shelving for sewing projects, crocheting, and pattern-designing.
Here’s how it turned out:
A creative dream come true
Callie began building her ideal creative oasis on the Tuff Shed online configurator. Then, she worked with a sales design consultant to make that dream a reality. Callie was surprised by how easy her rep, Danny, made the whole process. The financing options were a huge perk, too. In hardly any time at all, Callie got to sit back, relax, and watch a whole building pop up in her backyard.
Now, any time friends come over to her house, they demand a tour. Callie says, “Everybody’s obsessed.” Things you can overhear in Callie’s Tuff Shed include: “This is the coolest space.” “I’m so jealous.” “I want one.”
Even Callie’s husband wants one to call his own!
Parting advice from the crafting queen
We asked Callie if she had any advice to share about her creative process. Her answer? “Just start.” It’s easy to get caught in a state of analysis paralysis and endless research. She must be onto something, because she’s sold over 11,000 patterns and counting for her cheeky crochet pillow designs and more.
Take Callie’s advice and just start:
